Paul praised the believers in Phillipi for their financial giving. He wrote, " You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account (Phil. 4:15-17)." They were assured that their "good work" of sacrificial financial investments in the Cause of Christ would reap spiritual benefits- "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus (Phil. 1:6)."
